Horst Gutbrod gründete 1963 in Dettingen/Erms das Unternehmen, das 2001 durch ein weiteres Werk in Schmölln/Thüringen ergänzt wurde. 2007 übernahm die voestalpine AG die Gruppe und benannte die Standorte in voestalpine Automotive Components Dettingen GmbH sowie voestalpine Automotive Components Schmölln GmbH um. Die voestalpine Automotive Components Gruppe fertigt für die Automobilindustrie einbaufertige Stanz- und Umformteile, Baugruppen sowie Sicherheits- und Aufprallschutzkomponenten. Am Standort Dettingen/Erms existiert zudem ein hochmoderner Werkzeugbau als Kernkompetenz des Betriebs.
