1. What this is about
DettingenConnect is the app for local life: events, meeting places with rooms, clubs and other organisations, people with the same hobbies, and chat. It is operated by Bürgerforum Buchhalde Dettingen gUG (“we”). These terms apply between you and us. By registering, you agree to them. Use is free of charge.
2. Who may take part
- You are at least 14 years old. If you are younger than 16, you need your parents’ consent; until then you can read but not take part.
- You create one account for yourself, using your real first name, and use it only yourself.
- You give truthful information about your age.
3. Your account
Keep your login details secret; the safest way to sign in is with a passkey. If you suspect misuse, let us know. You can delete your account at any time under Settings; this happens immediately and cannot be undone.
4. Getting along
DettingenConnect thrives on everyone feeling comfortable. In particular, the following are not allowed:
- insults, threats, harassment, incitement and discrimination;
- content that breaks the law or endangers children and young people;
- images of other people without their consent, and content to which you hold no rights;
- advertising, spam and chain letters; organisations and businesses may point out their own offers;
- false personal details, other people’s accounts, automated scraping of the app.
Anyone who writes to others in the chat respects a no.
5. Organisations, events and rooms
Organisations and meeting places are themselves responsible for their content: their events, posts, rules and prices. Anyone who attends an event or books a room enters into a contract with the organisation or the meeting place, not with us. If something costs money, you pay the organisation or the venue; we are not involved and receive nothing from it.
Anyone who leads an organisation or looks after a meeting place keeps the details up to date, answers enquiries and handles members’ data only for the purposes of the organisation or the meeting place.
6. Reporting, moderation and suspensions
You can report messages, profiles, posts and photos. We review reports and decide promptly. In the event of violations, we may remove content, suspend an account temporarily or permanently, and report indications of serious criminal offences to the authorities. We will notify you of a suspension by email, stating the reason and duration. You can object to a decision by replying to that email or via the contact address in the legal notice; a human will then review it again.
7. Your content
What you post remains yours. You allow us to store it for the operation of the app, to process it technically (for example, to reduce the size of images) and to show it to the people you share it with. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account. Messages in group chats then remain without your name.
8. Availability and liability
We strive for uninterrupted operation but cannot guarantee it. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health; otherwise only for breach of essential obligations and limited to the foreseeable damage. We are not responsible for the content and conduct of other members, organisations and meeting places, but we act as soon as we learn of a violation.
9. Changes
If we change these terms materially, we will show you the new version the next time you open the app and ask for your consent. If you do not agree, you can delete your account. You can recognise minor corrections by the date at the top.
10. Law
German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection provisions remain unaffected.
